(cont'd from 11th) We spent the day with our neighbours immediately to our south, Nathalie,
Andre, Cynthia, Simon, and from a nearby block Brian and Harrison by
going to visit the Red
Fort in Delhi, a UNESCO World Heritage site:
Then we took bicycle rickshaws through Chandni Chowk to Jama Masjid,
the largest mosque in Delhi. From the top of one of the minarets, you
can easily see the Red Fort.
Next we were back into the bicycle rickshaws to take us the rest of the
way down Chandni Chowk to the spice market. The traffic was pretty
slow and dense down Chandni Chowk so the rickshaws were a good choice.
The fumes in the spice market building were intense.
Back on compound, Carole's colleague Sanjeev brought this two-person
electric trike with him from their cross-posting from China. It is not
legal on indian roads. He can drive it in the compound. If he tried to
drive it in Chanaykapuri (the diplomatic enclave) he would likely get
pulled over. If he managed to escape this neighbourhood, he might be
able to get lost in traffic...
That evening, we had a welcome party in the compound.
Early the next morning (Sunday) at 7am I was out with DPEG - Delhi Photo Enthusiasts Guild for their weekly meetup, this time about No Preview Photography.
